I was about to leap into this debate with an array of dubious facts and self-serving rhetoric, but you've forced me to step back and reconsider the situation. If we restore this debate to its proper historical perspective, it seems clear that racism actually disappeared altogether in the mid 1980s. Yet over the next two decades, White Christians have suffered years of senseless oppression at the hands of people like Alexandra Schwartz, who insinuate that some white people have been complicit in acts of discrimination. These lies have had an incredibly damaging effect on the psyches of young white middle-class males: Given the number of false claims that have been made to the effect that some whites are racist, it is no wonder that so many whites strike back by being racist. I realize now that for the tragedy of racism, it is the so-called "victims," who are truly to blame.

It is often dangerous when a country's foreign policy calculus, especially when surrounded by military elements, is radically altered at times of domestic political turbulence that may be a perfect recipe for disaster. Ironically, what brings together the otherwise not-so-friendly institutions that are the Turkish government and the Turkish military is their confusion over Iraq: In public, both are pro-incursion; privately none may be so. What are the consequences? A military march into the old Mesopotamia would not look (or happily end) something like Tintin in the land of the Kurds. There are military and political reasons why an incursion may not be militarily and politically feasible. In military terms, the cost-benefit analysis is not lucid. For example, what would the criteria be for success? How many terrorists are worth how many martyrs and how much equipment, time, effort and resources lost? What would the defined goal be? How would be achieved? Would it be achieved? Can it be achieved? If the answer is a maybe, what's the point of opting for an incursion? If yes, what would be the cost of an incursion? Who would be the enemy? PKK men? PKK sympathizers in northern Iraq? The Iraqi Kurdish Entity? The U.S.

2 held, cops ‘unearth’ court blasts plot
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force on Saturday claimed to have unearthed the plot behind the serial court blasts in Lucknow, Faizabad and Varanasi after the arrest of two alleged members of the Harkat-ul-Jehad-al-Islami. The two — Mohammad Tariq Kasmi of Rani Sarai in Azamgarh, and Khalid Mujahid of Madiyahun, Jaunpur — were caught near Barabanki station, 30 km from Lucknow, around 6.20 am. The cops claimed to have seized 1.25 kg of RDX and three detonators from Tariq and ammonium nitrate and three more detonators from Mujahid. Additional Director-General (law and order) Brij Lal said Tariq, who has been an active member of HuJI since 2003, was part of its administrative wing while Mujahid used to execute the assignments, which included planting bombs.

THERE is this Kennedy campaign advertisement from 1960. It's got this catchy jingle that I just can't seem to shake off. You know what it's like, when a song suddenly slips into your senses, playing in an infinite loop, over and over again. It plays for so long that you believe it to be more than just happenstance. There must be a reason for this trespassing tune. And so you begin to draw all kinds of connections and conclusions. This is what has happened to me.
